Happy New Year!
Who thought the year could start off so busy! Right now, as I am writing, I am all laid-up with a sprained ankle which is keeping me from the studio. YUCK! Once I do get back on my feet I have a lot to prepare for!
First off, in my hiatus, I have added some new images of recent work to the website including some tintypes. I am finishing up a new piece which will, hopefully, be included in an upcoming solo show at the Arlington Art Center, in Arlington VA. The opening for the show, which will feature most of the History Revealed series as well as some other work, will be held on April 8, 2008. I will post more on that as the date approaches, but as for now, I have my work cut out for me.
If anyone will be in the Baltimore area during the American Craft Council show from Feb. 17-24, my piece “Dancing Dress for a Legless Girl” will be exhibited at the show in conjunction with and exhibit of student work from Virginia Commonwealth University. Lastly, I have 2 pieces traveling to a group show in Chicago at the Woman Made Gallery. The “Memento Mori” and “Replacement Liver” will be on show during the month of march. Also in March, I will be traveling to Las Vegas to attend the TransWorld Haunted House Trade Show as an assistant to the research team at Safari Anomalous , a very exciting proposition as I get to help in promoting the new discoveries for 2008, plus meet some really eclectic characters and animatronic buffs.
Oh and did I mention that I got a dog?!!
Witje! (Vitya) the new pupster!
